The police informed me today that units like ours are being broken into all over Palm Beach County. We are being targeted due to the high closed fences, and the limited
visual site of the sliding glass doors and front door.
Cars are also being targeted that have unlocked doors. Please be sure to keep your cars, gates, and all doors locked.
If you do not have a parking sticker, please call Eric at 561-575-6090. All vehicles without stickers or guest passes will be ticketed and subject to towing.
Residents: "If you see something, say something. We are the best witnesses for the police"
Thank you all for your help!

Here are some of the things the Police Chief discussed with us at the Citizens Advisory Group Meeting:
New patterns of break-ins are:
3 men entering two-story residences at night, one stands armed over bed while you sleep, and other two look for keys and wallets downstairs.
They are looking for keys to steal cars as get-away cars in thefts. The cars are being dumped into neighborhoods before and after use (this is where our stickers/passes come in handy to identify cars)
They also like to steal cars inside gated communities after they commit robbery so they have access to open gates on their way out. Thieves like stolen cars because the police will not chase them at high speeds. Also, important reminder is, if your car is stolen and impounded, you are stuck with the bill to get it back. (keep doors locked and items out of vehicles)
The other pattern is the thieves are training "new thieves" in our neighborhoods....teaching them how to break into cars and what to look for.....and not necessarily taking anything during these "training sessions".
Chief wants us to pass the word....."If you see something, say something"
Also, Jupiter Police want us all to be aware of how to protect ourselves if in an active shooter situation....this is becoming a serious issue everywhere. A video they recommend to watch is "Run.Hide.Fight: Surviving an Active Shooter" which is available on YouTube.
RUN Have an escape route and plan in mind. Leave your belongings behind. HIDE in an area out of the shooter's view. FIGHT as a last resort and only when your life is in imminent danger.
Thank you all for helping keep Jupiter Plantation safe!
